Dr. Stefan Schermaier
PartnerCommercial law from practice — with a strong EU-law and strategic background.
Stefan Schermaier shares a long history with Bernhard Tonninger: both completed their legal training from 1999 to 2003 at Schönherr Rechtsanwälte. He laid his academic roots in Salzburg and Bonn — and obtained his doctorate in 1998 with a dissertation on the European-law state-liability claim (Peter Lang-Verlag, 1999); EU law remains a focus of his advisory work to this day.
From 2003 to 2010 he was an attorney and partner at Lansky, Ganzger + partner — seven years at one of Austria's leading commercial-law firms, where he built up the corporate and M&A practice. In early 2011 he joined Tonninger Schermaier & Partner, where he now advises companies on corporate law, M&A, banking and capital-markets law as well as complex contract and real-estate projects.
His style: commercially and strategically minded, legally clean in execution. Structures are set up so that they still hold up — and remain legally sound — five or ten years later.
